What Denomination are
you associated with?
We are part of a denomination called "The Christian and Missionary
Alliance." The C&MA (as it is referred to) has been in existence for 120
years, so we are no newcomers to Christian ministry. If you would like to
look at the denomination's doctrinal statement, it can be found at:
www.cmalliance.org/ We are
also a member of the National Association of Evangelicals with other
denominations such as the Assemblies of God, Evangelical Free, Southern
Baptist and Calvary Chapel. We believe the Bible is the indisputable Word
of God and that through Jesus anyone can receive forgiveness of sins and
the gift of eternal life. Of course, you can learn more about the
denomination at www.cmalliance.org
. You can also look at some of the Northern California activities of the
denomination at: www.cpdistrict.org/

How long has Gateway
Fellowship been in existence?
Gateway began as a home cell group in September of 1999. Mike and Suzanne
Marczak, recent graduates of Simpson College began this group in their
home. Mike was the assistant pastor of the church, and is now starting a
new church: Gateway Fellowship of West Roseville. In December of 1999,
Mike and Kathy Phillips moved from Montana to take the position of the
first Lead Pastor of the church. We met in a home from February until
April 16th. Growing out of the home, we met in a renovated office building
at 1513 Sports Drive in Sacramento. (Map it!). Now we are meeting in our
10,000 square foot facility also on Sports Drive at 1515 Sports Dr. Suite
6. Currently we have about 300 attendees and we are excited about the many
visitors that are attending every Sunday. [Back]
Can you explain the Cell
Groups to me?
We encourage everyone who attends Gateway to consider joining one of our
home cell groups. It is in these basic Christian Communities that we can
experience the opportunity to get to know and support one another and make
friends. We also find that people who attend cell groups tend to grow
faster in their relationship with God. Our goal is to create home cell
groups that fit every type of individual and family, so please contact the
church office (419-4200) so we can help you get started with our cell
ministry. We currently have nine cell groups, so if you contact us and
give us your location, we will help set you up with one of these basic
Christian Communities. [Back]
Is There Anything For My Kids
to Do During Church?
Yes, we highly value kids! We have fun and educational Sunday School-like
programs during the morning worship services. Service starts
at 10 am. The older children join
us for worship and during the sermon they go to their classrooms for
Children's church. [Back]
Is there anything expected
of me during the singing?
Yes there is. We expect you to be honest and real. If you are excited
about God and want to sing, and clap, and even shout your praises to God,
feel free to do so. We invite you to be genuine and sensitive to others
around you. You may desire to raise your hands, or even to kneel, but we
do not have a standard way that we worship at Gateway. We are open to any
and all expressions of worship. Our worship team members are very capable
and godly musicians, but it is the Holy Spirit who leads us in worship of
God. [Back]
How long are the
Services?
Service length varies a little. Service at 10 am. We also have regular altar prayer times so you may decide to stay
later. Some people like to stay later because they want to have another
cup of coffee with new and old friends. [Back]
