Purpose of the Christian Church Cell Ministry:
There are two parallel and
equally important purposes of the cell ministry.
Evangelism is the vital goal of the group as a whole, for the cell
exists to multiply itself.
Evangelism in the cell setting is decidedly a group effort, not relying
solely on the gifts and efforts of a few in the group most comfortable
with evangelism. Discipleship is the ongoing result of the group’s meeting
together on a weekly basis.
Those who form the core of the beginning cell group, as well as the cell
group members who are added through evangelism and recruitment, are all
expected to follow a path of discipleship.
This means, it is the purpose of the cell group to take an active
role in helping other members of the cell grow.
